Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.
He was born May 7, 1931, in Serena Township, to Herbert and June (Bultman) Applebee. In 1949, he married Carolyn Patricia Creed of Ottawa who preceded him in death on December 4, 2004.
He farmed in Manlius Township and shelled corn. In his earlier years, he worked at Brickton in Ottawa. In his senior years, he worked at Pleasant View Lutheran Home. Butch enjoyed having coffee, pie, and playing cards with family and friends.
Butch is survived by his two daughters, Patricia (Terry) Long of Winter Haven, FL and Carolyn Progress of Warrenville, IL; two sons, Dan (Susan) Applebee of Marseilles and Robert (Anne) Applebee of Anchorage, AK; sixteen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Wanda Morsch and Vivian Knack.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Penny and Jean; one son, Don; three grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation.
His Grandchildren will be pallbearers.
