Rita Shanahan was born to Anton and Anna Krzycki near Genoa, Nebraska. She was one of 10 children.
She met Arnold Shanahan in Genoa and they were married at St. Mary's Cathedral June 7, 1941.
Rita worked at Sears for many years, upon retirement they enjoyed traveling, working at Holy Cross Catholic Church and family.
Rita is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Shirley) and Robert; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Cross Church in Portland, Oregon.
