Earl Abele Dies While Attending Synod Gathering
Earl Milton Abele, 54, well- known former owner-manager of the Abele Coal Co. here for 17 years and secretary-treasurer of the Matthes Coal and Supply Co for the past four years, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., where he was attending the general synod meeting of the Evangelical and Reformed Church as a delegate from the Northwest Ohio Synod. Stricken with a heart attack last Thursday morning, Mr. Abele was taken to the church hospital and 'was believed to be out of danger when the fatal attack occurred. Rev. E. W. Brueseke of Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church here was in attendance at the convention with Mr. Abele and will accompany the body to Sandusky. Mr. Abele was treasurer of Emmanuel Church and the Northwest Ohio Synod and was a member of Perseverance Lodge, No 329, F and A, M., Sandusky City Chapter, No. 72, and Sandusky Council, No. 26, R. and S. M., and Commodore Denig Post, No. 83 American Legion. He was very active in church work. Survivors include his widow Esther; two daughters. Miss Esther Abele, at home, and Mrs. Henry Moyer, Millbury, O.; his mother Mrs. Emma Abele, Sandusky, one sister, Mrs. James Asher, Sandusky, and a brother, Charles, Mansfield. Arrangements are in charge of the Frey Funeral Home and will be announced later.

Services for Earl Abele, well- known local businessman who died in St. Louis Tuesday morning, will be Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the Frey Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. H. L. Shinn, D. D., of Toledo, and the Rev. E. W. Brueseke of Emmanuel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Services for Earl Milton Abele were held this afternoon at the Frey Funeral Home and at Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. H. L. Shinn, D. D of Toledo and the Rev. E. W. Brueseke, officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers, all members of the Emmanuel church board, were Edwin Koch, Karl Kurtz, Gust Hahn, Floyd Stonerook, Alton Peterson, Werner Hall, Alvin Reinke and Arthur Weis.
