Del passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Louisiana Extended Care, West Monroe, Louisiana, after a long illness.

Del was born in Epps, Louisiana, on November 17, 1939, to Minnie Lee Sistrunk and Lloyd Cordell Ainsworth. He had two children, Cindy Ainsworth, deceased, and Rickey Ainsworth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In his younger years, Del owned a food service business. Later, he purchased the Sonic Drive-In in Tallulah, Louisiana, which he operated for over 27 years.

Del was a devoted member of his First Baptist Church of Tallulah. After battling with his illness, it was his goal to once again attend church services there with his friends and family and worship his Lord and Saviour whom he loved so much. Above all, Del was devoted to his wife, Dorothy, and his extended family. He loved going to and watching family sporting events. He was their biggest fan, and I know they will miss seeing him in the stands, rooting them on.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorothy Marsh Ainsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and D. Anne Ainsworth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son, Mark Day, three grandchildren, Jacqueline Del Bloemer and husband Brett of Baton Rouge, Carneal Ainsworth and wife, Mauriel of Baton Rouge, and Emily Caroline Ainsworth of New Orleans; one great-grandchild, John Jackson Ainsworth; one sister-in-law, Wanzie Ainsworth; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Lee Sistrunk Ainsworth and Lloyd Cordell Ainsworth; his daughter, Cindy Ainsworth; his brothers, Kenneth Ainsworth and his wife, Donna Ainsworth, and his brother Gary Ainsworth; and by his in-laws, Jeff and Lucille Marsh.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Tallulah with visitation from 1:00 p.m. till the hour of the service.
