Eldon Raymond Funk passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018.
Born March 13, 1924, in Calhoun County, Illinois, son of the late Carl and Carrie Funk.
Eldon was preceded in death by his loving spouse of 57 years, Shirley Patricia Funk (nee Gorman) ,who passed in January 2005.
Eldon is survived by his daughter, Patricia L. Woods of Hastings, Michigan; son, Paul S. Funk of Novi, Michigan; daughter, Sharon A. Hupp (William) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and daughter, Denise F. Molen (Steve – deceased) of Glendale, Missouri. Eldon loved his 14 grandchildren dearly – namely, Colleen and Molly Woods; Adele (Nick) Kelleher, Matthew (Michelle) Funk, Andrew (Becky) Funk, Carrie (Chase) Lee; Katherine Sanfelippo; William, Thomas, James, John and Patricia Hupp; Thomas Eldon and Daniel Molen. Eldon was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren – namely Blake and Aidan Harvey, Rowan and Liam Sanfelippo, Harry Kelleher, Joey Eldon and Lyla Funk, Jeremy and Lola Funk. Eldon enjoyed a very special familial relationship with Nicole Murphy; Aubri, Marwan, Emma, Marissa and Zane Hayali. Eldon was further blessed with many neighbors and friends, especially Beverly Phillips. Eldon was preceded in death by his siblings, James, Delbert, Norman, Dorothy and Doris.
Visitation Friday, November 30, 2018, 2-8 pm (rosary 7 pm) at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 1, 2018, 11 am (in state at 10:30am) at St. Gerald Church, 21300 Farmington Rd., Farmington.
Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, MI on December 3, 2018.
