Roy Richards Silver

Salt Lake City, UT-Roy Richards Silver, 88, died March 25th, 2015 in Salt Lake. Roy was born July 12th, 1926, the son of Clarence Watson Silver and Mamie Richards in Salt Lake City, Utah. Roy served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a missionary in the LDS East Central States Mission. On June 12th, 1952, he married his sweetheart, La Rae Weight. They had four daughters: Kristy Phillips (Lee), Laurie Pergler (Harold), Sherilyn Sorensen (Gregory), and Melinda Silver (Moises Garcia-Perez). They have 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Roy was a prominent architect, and served two LDS missions in Toronto, Canada with La Rae. He acted as a temple sealer and patriarch of his family, who are all active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM April 6, 2015 at The Valley View First Ward Chapel, 1999 East 3900 South, Salt Lake. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Perpetual Education Fund.
