Viola passed away in San Jose, CA, age 98. Born and raised in Oklahoma, she moved to Gilroy with her husband in 1946 where she was a devoted wife and mother of seven children. She worked for Gentry's for over 20 years, from which she retired in 1974.
She enjoyed gardening and hosting family affairs. Her greatest joys were her loving family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gilroy for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Troy Mason of Gilroy and son, Donald Mason of Salinas.
She is survived by son Bill Mason and daughter-in-law Florence of Grants Pass, OR, sons; Jim Mason and Bob Mason of Gilroy, daughters; Millie Wright of Salinas, Leola Painter of Gilroy and Wynona Haygood and son-in-law Albert of Gilroy, seventeen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, a bother Roy Lee, sister-in law Bette and sister Irene of Oklahoma.
Services were held on Friday, May 25, at the Habing Family Funeral Home with graveside services at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park. Services provided by: Family.
