Roy Wilmer Black, 93, of Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA died Monday, November 19, 2018 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He was the husband of the late Esther Hershour Black who died October 21, 2015. Born in Peach Bottom, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Kathryn Eckman Black.

Wilmer had been employed as an auto mechanic for 35 years with C.E. Wiley & Son. Following that he was employed by PennDOT for 10 years.

Active in his community and church he was a member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member of Robert Fulton Fire Company where he served as the first president, chief engineer and third assistant chief. Wilmer was a member of Quarryville Lions Club and a charter member of Wakefield Lions Club. He was also a charter member of the Southern Lancaster County Farmer's Sportsman's Association.

Wilmer was an avid hunter and enjoyed mowing grass. He loved to sit on his front porch and watch "God's widescreen television".

He is survived by two sons, Robert W. (Joanne) Black of Quarryville, Richard D. (Dawn) Black of New Providence; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Black, Peach Bottom, and Dorothy Houser, Willow Street. He was preceded by a sister Ruth Black.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Joann Arnold who was his caretaker, and the Wakefield Lion Club for the support they gave to him.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA with pastor Tom Milligan officiating. Burial will be in the Little Britain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday, November 29 from 6:00-8:00 PM from Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA, and on Friday at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wakefield Lions Club, or a charity of one's choice. www.reynoldsfuneralhome.net
