Laurel Lee Hershman, 76, passed away peacefully from complications of Lupus on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Wheeler, TX. She was born on August 1st, 1942 to Hershel and Willa Rose Singleton in Graham, TX. She attended school in Briscoe, TX and graduated in 1960. She then attended West Texas State for one year. She then attended Cliff Mann Floral Design School in Denver, Colorado. She started her first job as a florist in Colorado Springs and it was here that she met Edwin Hershman and they were married on June 20, 1965 in Gageby, TX. At this time Laurel returned with Edwin to Kirklin, IN to his family farm. While in Indiana she was a member of the Elizaville Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Lebanon, IN, Boone County Extension Home Economics Club. She was a florist at Mounts Flowers and Jones Florist for over 30 years. She was also a preschool aide for Little Lamb Nursery School. In 1996 she and Ed moved to Wheeler, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wheeler but also attended Cornerstone Church and Gageby Church. Laurel loved all things that involved gardening, nature and organizing play days for the children in the area in Indiana. She was also accomplished seamstress and enjoyed her sewing projects. She was a loving grandmother who took great pride in all of her grandchildren's accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her step father, E.G. Fillingim, and brother Gary Fillingim.
