Houston – Wendell Franklin McKinney, 86, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 unexpectantly at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit in Lee County He was born September 12, 1932 in Lee County, Mississippi to Booker Quitman McKinney and Mildred Viola Allen McKinney. Mr. McKinney was a retired business owner of many different businesses and a retired farmer. He was a member of Houston First Baptist Church in Houston, MS.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Hart) Beatty of Houston; his son, Dr. David (Kim) McKinney of Macon, Georgia; his sisters, Janice Maxcy of Guntown, MS., and Dorothy “Dot” Swords of Forsyth, Georgia; his grandchildren, Josh (Jana) Earnest, Jordan (Tyler) Morgan, Brandon McKinney, Sam (Esther) Beatty, Tyler McKinney, and Hunter McKinney; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Beatty, Sean Beatty, Luke Earnest, Lowery Morgan, and Maddox Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman and Mildred McKinney; and his late wife, Ouida McKinney; and his two sisters, Verna Jean Duncan and Sybil Snipes.

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Houston Funeral Home in Houston, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Houston First Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Herringa officiating.
