Alfred C. Abshire was the son of James Henderson Abshire and Dorlesca Horn.

He married Myrtle Laughlin, daughter of John Warren Laughlin and Margaret Jane Logan, ca 1890; they were married until Myrtle's death on July 8, 1906. The couple had three children, namely:

Hazel (Abshire) Wallace (1891-1973),
Sybil (Abshire) [Bardshar] Lockwood (1893-1958), and
Donald Laughlin Abshire (1896-1963).

He married Lily Brichman, daughter of John Bernard Brichman and Harriet ("Hattie") Atkins, ca 1908. They were married until Lily's death on September 4, 1920, in Alameda County; she was born ca 1877 in California. The couple had no children together.

He married Nina Davies, daughter of John T. Davies and Hattie Underwood, on October 23, 1921, in Alameda County. They were married until Nina's death on October 9, 1943, in Alameda County; she was born on August 26, 1877, in California. The couple had no children together.
