Mrs. G. S. Slater died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Kinyoun, near Clay Center, Friday, June 30. She was 78 years of age and had not been well for some time and suffered a stroke about a week before her death. She and her husband, G. S. Slater, lived in the East Lynn neighborhood for many years and after his death about 20 years ago she lived there for a time with her youngest daughter Alice. For the past several years she has made her home with her children. Four daughters, Mrs. Edith Porter and Mrs. Ethel Kinyoun of Clay Center and Mrs. May Stedt and Mrs. Alice Hachtel of Harvard; two sons, Ray Slater of Harvard and Glen Slater of Clay Center survive their mother. There are also several grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon and burial was in Harvard.
