Kirkman Funeral Rites Held at Moran

Breckenridge, Jan. 5 - Funeral for Willie E. Kirkman, 73, who died at the West Side hospital, Breckenridge, was held at the Moran Christian church. The longtime Moran resident had been in failing health for several months, and was a hospital patient for two months.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., where he was born on March 8, 1868, W.E. Kirkman came to Washington county, Texas, with his family, at the age of four. He moved to Milam county when 20, and was married there to Bellezora Wiley. The family moved to Shackelford county in 1905, and had since lived there. He had been a member of the Christian church a half century.

Surviving are his wife, of the home at Moran, and seven children, Berford Kirkman, Moran: Mrs. Zenna Wakeford, Breckenridge; Wallace Kirkman, Roscoe; Connie Kirkman, Lawn; Mrs. Oulda Dosser, Los Angeles, Calif.; W.K. Kirkman, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Minnie Loving, Abilene, and 18 grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death.

He was a son of Samuel E Kirkman and Rebecca Matilda May.
Will and Bellezora married on 10 October 1888.
