Rex Allen Freeman, age 55 of Jasper, AR, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home.

The son of Lewis Freeman and Beverly (Bartle) Shirley was born December 18, 1962 in Harrison, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Freeman and his brother, Roger Freeman.

Rex is survived by his parents, Lewis Freeman of Mt Judea, AR and Beverly Shirley of St. Louis, MO; his sisters, Sandra Holt (Nick) of Vendor, AR and Diane Hice of Springdale; and his brother, Stuart Freeman (Leslie) of Dover, AR.

There are no services at this time. Cremation and arrangements are with Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.

My Uncle Rex lived by himself at his place on Smith Mountain Road, near Deer, after his wife passed away. He was known by his neighbors for his willingness to help whenever he was needed. One day he was helping a neighbor just down the road feed wood into his stove when he suddenly passed away of a heart attack. Even to the end, he was helping and thinking of his neighbors. Rex , like any man, was flawed, and had his quirks, but he had a truly good heart and wouldn't harm anyone. He died helping others, and that is more than many can say. May he rest in peace, always.
