William J. McCauley
SHUSHAN - William J. McCauley, 75, died unexpectedly Monday, March 17, at his residence on Sutherland Road.
He was born in Hartford on Aug 19, 1910, son of William and Sarah Conety McCauley.
Mr. McCauley was an elder and trustee of the Shushan United Presbyterian Church.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer, and was active on his farm in Shushan up to the time of his death. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Williams and Janet Record, both of Cambridge; a son Richard McCauley of Shushan; three sisters, Margaret Mellom of Hudson Falls, Ruth Stewart of Glens Falls and Marian Moranville of Warrensburg; a brother, Robert McCauley of Hudson Falls; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Shushan United Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Fergus Cochran, pastor. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.
The family has suggested that memorials take the form of donations to the Shushan United Presbyterian Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McClellan Funeral Home, Salem.
