Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Aug. 7 at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever. Funeral: 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever. Marie Catherine McGoveran, 95, formerly of Browns Spring, died Aug. 4, 2016. She was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Russellville, Arkansas, to W.T. and Cleorah (Maxwell) Blair. Marie was united in marriage to David E. McGoveran Dec. 24, 1937. This union was blessed with five children. The McGoveran family lived in Browns Spring for several years before Mr. McGoveran died Oct. 6, 1975. Marie was a charter member of the Hurley Church of God. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. Marie was an excellent seamstress. Marie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers, J.M. Blair, Rufus Blair and William Blair; and sister, Juanita Chastain. She is survived by five children, Mike McGoveran, Barbara Wright, Aroma McWilliams, Lovelle Engel and Valerie Swearingen; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister Aullean Westerman; other relatives and many friends.
