Deena Anderson Andres, of Houston, died Monday, November 12, 2018 at age 90 surrounded by her family and loving friends. She was born in Tom Green County, Texas, August 4, 1928 to Claude Milton Anderson and Edith Williams Anderson. Deena was the 1944 valedictorian graduate of Eola High School, and graduated from the University of Texas, receiving a BA in History and Journalism.
Upon graduation, Deena worked as a journalist for the San Angelo Standard Times and later as secretary for the Operations Division of the Texas Highway Department and various law firms.
An avid and award-winning needle artist, Deena was a long-time member of the Houston chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America.
