MILES (McCollum), Marjorie Lorena Marjorie Lorena McCollum Miles went to her Heavenly Home on August 6, 2017. She was born on January 18, 1922 in Decatur, GA to Alice & John McCollum and grew up in the Atlanta/Ben Hill area. After her two brothers were called to the Armed Forces, Marjorie enlisted in the WACs in December 1944 and served from January 1945 to August 1946. After returning home, she was employed by Southern Saw Service. She then worked for Piedmont Hospital in the records room and left to go to work for Pure Oil (now Chevron) and retired in 1977. In 1973 she met and married William T. (Bill) Miles and enjoyed eleven years with the love of her life. They were members of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church for over 40 years and after the closing of Rehoboth, she joined Shallowford Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Marvin and Margie McCollum, 6 nieces & nephews, many grand nieces & nephews, 3 step grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons, with Rev. Michael McCollum officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shallowford Presbyterian Church or FODAC. The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
