Elmer Keith Kubitz, 73 of Vernon, Texas died on Saturday, November 10, 2018, in Vernon, Texas.
Services will be Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Neuberger officiating. Interment will be held at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Keith was born Saturday, August 18, 1945 in Vernon, Texas; he was the son of the late Elmer A. Kubitz and Agnes Schwarz Kubitz. He married Marcia McCuthan on August 23, 1970 in Albuquerque, NM. He was a graduate of Vernon High School in 1963 graduate of Concordia University of Austin in 1965, Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne IN in 1967 and Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Il in 1971. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was very active, currently head trustee, holding numerous offices. He was a pastor in Hoxie, KS. Hillcity, KS. and Shamrock, TX. then moved home to Vernon to farm and fill in as pastor for several churches in this area.
He is survived by his wife Marcia Kubitz of the home. son, Kenneth Kubitz of Austin, TX, daughter, Karen Defoor and husband Jay of Vernon, TX, His mother Agnes Kubitz of Vernon, sister, Sherry Johnston of Vernon, TX. Mother-in-law Gerry McCuthan of Albuquerque, NM. Five grandchildren Kolton Kubitz, Ayden Defoor, Greyson Kubitz, Kade Kubitz, and Grant Kubitz.
Family Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
