Viola Patricia (Rice) Sugg was born to William James and Estelle Allie (Short) Rice on September 13, 1947, at Elk City, Oklahoma. She passed away November 7, 2018, in Dallas, TX.

Pat moved with her family from Yukon, Ok. to Norman in the 7th grade and graduated from Norman High School and also completed (2) years of Junior College. She married the love of her life Mr. Gerald Ray Sugg on August 19, 1963, in Norman, OK. They made their home in Norman and had (2) Daughters.

Pat was employed with the Bank Of Oklahoma in Norman at the time of her retirement. She spent over (25) years in the banking business. Pat was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the First Pentecostal Church Of God. She was one of the founding members when the church moved to the east side of Norman and the Church became Heaven Bound Family Church. Pat was an OU Sooner fan, her favorite time of year was Christmas., she enjoyed family vacations, grandson’s birthday parties, their school plays, and award ceremonies. During her illness, she spent the weekdays at her Daughter Tara’s house. Tara’s husband Don and grandson Aden became a big part of her life as a major caretaker. She spent the weekends at her Daughter Tammy’s house so Tammy, husband Dale, and grandson Colton could care for her. Pat’s Grandsons called her Gigi and her Nieces and Nephews called her Aunt Pat Pat. She had a special name for her Son-in-law Don, she named him (bacon). Pat loved her family and had a special place in her heart for each one of them including her sister-in-law Clara Payne. They became very close while living together for a few years after Gerald’s death.


She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Gerald Ray, (2) Brothers; Wm. Robert James Rice Jr. and James Rice.

Those who survive her include (2) Daughters; Tara Standley and husband Don and their Son Aden and Tammy Rawdon and her husband Dale and their Son Colton, (2) Sisters; Lucille Evans and husband Dave of Moore and Gloria Thiessen and husband Danny of Norman, many other Nieces and Nephews and numerous other family and friends. She will be missed by all.
