James Bowen, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
He was a loving husband of 57 years and Navy veteran of the Korean War. He retired as a truck driver from Ashland Oil Co. after working there for 12 years. He also enjoyed softball and was a University of Kentucky basketball and football fan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bowen; two children, Gordon Bowen, of Clarksville, and Donna Gannon and husband, Bill, of Clarksville; six grandchildren, Paul Gannon and wife, Missy, Matthew Gannon, Tammy Gannon, Lisa Williams and husband, Steve, James Bowen and wife, Sunny, and Jessica Bowen; a daughter-in-law, Trish Bowen; eight great-grandchildren, Shawn Gannon, Alli Gannon, Lacey Bowen, Maizy Jane Bowen, Chase Williams, Jaden Williams, Emily Williams and Destiny Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Morton and Omia Ella Eades; a daughter, Regina Bowen; sisters, Mary Wheeler and Ethel Howell.
