Margaret Elizabeth Lew, 83, of Nampa passed away Dec. 5, 2007, in a Nampa hospital, with family members at her side. Elizabeth was born Jan. 29, 1924, in Pekin, Ill., to Luke and Claudia Burgess Pursley, one of six children. She married Frank Lew in Dillon, Mont., on Oct. 8, 1945, and they lived for many years in McCammon/Pocatello area. They had six children together, and Frank also adopted her daughter, Nelda. They later divorced. Elizabeth was always on the go, and lived in many places over her lifetime, from Georgia to California. She also cared for many people at in-home healthcare over the years. While living in Boise, she met and married Bill Foster of Nampa. Though they later divorced, she and Bill remained close friends, and he lovingly cared for her up to her death. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Orville and Kenneth; two sons, Frank Jr. and Clayton Lew; and her daughter, Nelda Vereb. She is survived by three sisters, Nita Peck of Great Falls, MT, Kathy Heckman of Lincoln, NE and Naomi Sines of Vista, CA; and four sons, James Lew, Boise, David Lew (wife Susan), Boise, Lance Lew, Ogden, UT and Joseph Lew, Pocatello. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Following cremation in Boise, a family gathering in Boise and Pocatello will be held at a later date.
