Bob was born on July 7, 1924, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the son of William and Julia (Berish) Burns. He was raised in White House Station, New Jersey.
After graduating High School Bob entered the United States Navy during WWII where he served on the USS Enterprise and spent time in the Philippines.
After the war he was stationed in the State of Washington and while on leave, he met and fell in love with Winnifred Redmond. The couple was married in Canada on May 28, 1949, and would eventually make their home in Anaheim, California.
During his life Bob worked for Boeing in Washington and then for FMC Corporation in California.
Winnifred died in 1997 and in 2003, to be closer to his family, Bob moved to Waverly, Iowa, with his special friend Fusako Waidner.
Bob will always be remembered for living independently until his passing and for his devotion to his family.
Bob's enjoyments included fishing, woodworking, computer programing, and traveling in his motorhome.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and two brothers, William and Jimmy Burns.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Orland Cemetery District, Orland, California at a future date.
