Funeral services for Mr. Johnnie Willard Blizzard, age 93, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Blizzard was born May 20, 1925 in Wrightsville, Georgia; he was preceded in death by his parents, the late John Maxton Blizzard and Sallie Tharpe Blizzard, a daughter, Glenda Blizzard Bailey, three brothers, Herbert Blizzard, Julian Blizzard and Robert Blizzard and a sister, Ann Wood. He was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for several years. During World War II, he worked in Savannah, Georgia helping build mine sweeps for the United States Navy. He was a longtime Johnson County farmer. Mr. Blizzard passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the church.
