The remains of the late Clarissa B. Abbott arrived from Somerville, Mass., Tuesday, and were interred at Oak Grove Cemetery. Services were held at the grave, being conducted by Rev. A. T. Ringold of this city. Her age was 81 years. Mrs. Abbott was well known in this city, having passed a greater part of her life at Pittston. She has many relatives in this city [Kennebec Journal, issue of April 4, 1900].
Although her death notice states she was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner, Maine, it seems that is an error as her death certificate from Massachusetts states she as buried in Randolph, Maine. Two of her sons are also buried in this cemetery. There is no record of her or her family buying any lots in Gardiner.
