Gordon was born on Feb. 8, 1953, in Battle Creek, Michigan.
He attended school in Union City, Michigan, and later took classes and earned an associate degree from Glen Oakes College. He also served in the United States Air Force for two years.
Gordon currently worked for Iceberg Enterprises in Sturgis, Michigan, as a quality engineer. He previously worked for Douglas Auto Tech in Bronson, Michigan, for almost 30 years.
He enjoyed dirt and asphalt oval track racing. He started out as car No. 53, and ended his career in the No. 97, and he had won several feature races in his career. Music was another one of his passions, playing the guitar and drums. He was an active member of the Jamestown Church. He was a member of the praise and worship team, and performed marriages for family and friends.
Survivors include six children, Barry (Jennifer) Lepper of Dowling, Michigan, Shanon (Steve) Aber of Clark Lake, Michigan, Heath Lepper of Tekonsha, Michigan, Tracy Lepper of Orange, Texas, and Caleb Lepper of Angola; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way; his mother and stepfather, Norma and Harold Sheckles of Fremont; four brothers, Douglas (Penny) Lepper of Union City, Michigan, Daniel (Patty) Lepper of Bronson, Michigan, Tedd (Tina) Lepper of Bronson, Michigan, and Todd Lepper (Gina) of Bronson, Michigan; and two stepbrothers, Mick (Judy) Murphy of Bronson, Michigan, and Tim (Deb) Murphy of Bronson, Michigan.
Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Lepper; a son, Travis Lepper; and a stepsister, Kathy Russell.
