Nathan Freeman "N.F." Battershell
October 30, 1924 - October 31, 2018

N.F. Nathan Freeman Battershell, 94, of Marshall, Arkansas, has fought a good fight, has finished his course, has kept his faith and now received his crown of righteousness. While departing from this world of Wednesday, October 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family, he was welcomed into heaven by his loving Savior and reunited with his loving wife, Glenda. Our loss is truly Heavens gain.

He was born October 30th, 1924 in Marshall, Arkansas. He was a son of Joe and Ellen Battershell. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50+ years, Glenda; brother Gale Battershell, sisters Geraldine Treat and Bennie Rose and sons-in-law Danny Mainord and Charlie Tyler.

N.F loved to hunt deer and coons. He won numerous trophies with his coon dogs and he also loved it when friends would come over to compare racks and theirs would fit inside of his. He loved to sit around and laugh about the rumors of his taxi and moonshining business he ran in town. He was known to con his grandchildren into driving him to town and getting a cheeseburger and hitting the back roads.

He is survived by his children Natha Davis (Richie), Shelly Holliman (Randy), Denny Battershell (Kandus), Mary Battershell, and Beth Tyler; his grandchildren Casey Jones (Dalby), Nathan Davis (Anna), Jessica Smiley, Roxanne Russell, Heather Oliver, Marie Cole (Clinton), William Rains, Daneisha Holliman (Sam), Brent Battershell, Chad Tyler (Melissa), Darin Battershell, Lacey Ledford, and Brandy McCoy (Nathaniel) and 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, at Canaan Cemetery with Clayton Lesley officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathan Davis, Brent Battershell, Chad Tyler, William Rains, Clinton Cole, and Dennin Battershell. Honorary pallbearers are Darin Battershell, Dalby Jones and Sam Holliman.
