West Jordan - Mahonri Alvin Wixom, 78, 7631 South 1700 West, died Friday, 9:30 a.m., at his home of a heart ailment.
Born Dec. 26, 1883, in Paragonah, to Solomon Avery and Lois Orenia Earl Wixom. Married Effie L. Glover, Jan. 7, 1920, Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. High priest, West Jordan Third LDS Ward. Filled an LDS Stake Mission. Active in LDS Sunday School as ward teacher and supervisor. School crossing guard 15 years at West Jordan Elementary School.
Survivors: widow; son, Blaine A., West Jordan; four grandchildren; brother, sisters, Frank D., Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Lois Shalfer, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Deane McIntosh, Mrs. Nellie Daley, both Burley.
Funeral Monday, 1 p.m., West Jordan Third LDS Ward Chapel, 7950 S. 1700 West. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m., 4330 S. Redwood, or Monday at the church from 11 a.m. until services. Burial at West Jordan Cemetery.
