Nicolina was born in 1923 in San Pietro a Maida, Italy. At a young age, she and her family moved to Haverhill. She joined the army in 1944 and was transferred to Kennedy Veterans Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, where she was an orthopedic mechanic and met her husband, Walter Jans. They were married shortly thereafter and had one daughter together.
She was an avid collector of antiques and has been on the Antiques Roadshow on PBS. She was the owner of Nicole's Midtown Galleries, specializing in period French and English antiques.
She passed away on September 17th, 2022.
