Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. There will be no visitation. Pallbearers will be Earl Benus, Eric Benus, Randall Weber, Bob Adams, Charles Ruse and Terry Mayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Gruner, Roy Popp and Roy Harper.
Mrs. Benus was born March 3, 1926, in Mexico, to H.I. and Naomi Elizabeth (Montgomery) Gibbins. She married Elmer R. Benus on Aug. 21, 1944 in Laddonia. He preceded her in death June 5, 1997. She had worked for Don Buie and R.T. Hodges and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Earl R. and Sue Benus, Boonville, and Eldon R. and Tami Benus, Columbia; two grandsons, Eric Benus, Boonville, and Ellis R. Benus, Columbia; one great-granddaughter, Shelbi Higbee, Clinton; one brother, Robert Gibbins; and two sisters, Betty Overstreet, Kennewick, Wash., and Joan Andrews, Spirit Lake, Idaho.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Gibbins, and one sister, Norma Ruth Butler.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
