Frank F. Allison, Sr.
Anderson – Frank Fredrick Allison, Sr. 81, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born June 6, 1937 in Enka, NC, he was the son of the late Paul Allison and Lucy Mahaffey McDowell. Frank was a U. S. Army Veteran, and served as the Commander of the Campbell Patriots Guard Honor Guard. He was a member of Barnett Masonic Lodge No. 106, Hejaz Shriners, and American Legion Post #184. Frank was a member of the Downtown Merchants Association, the Anderson County Zoning Board, and later became the local DJ on WRIX and WAIM radio station.

He was a Jefferson Award Winner, former firefighter with Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department, and former Board of Directors of the Anderson County Rescue Squad and was an Active CERT member (Community Emergency Response Team). He even danced on the Grand Ole Opry. He was a retired finance manager with Home Credit Company and Citi Group with 32 years of service. Frank was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

Surviving are his son, Frank F. Allison, Jr. (Ponytail) and his fiancée, Joy; daughter, Anita Allison Donley and her husband, Ron all of Anderson; brother, James Gerald Allison and his wife, Sandra of Kernersville, NC; two nephews, James and Jeff and a niece, April.

Funeral service will be held at 3pm Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Chapel of Sullivan-King Mortuary with Rev. Mike Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 3pm prior to the service at the Mortuary, 3205 N. Hwy 81. A graveside service with Scottish Rites and Military Honors provided by the Campbell Patriots Honor Guard will be held at 10am Monday at M. J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family is at the home of his daughter, 116 Sedgefield Court, Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Campbell Patriots Honor Guard, 4605 Belton Hwy, Anderson, SC 29621.
