He worked for the Conoco Oil for 11 years, after which he was employed by the Logan City Fire Department. He worked for the Logan City Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as a lieutenant in 1987.
He was known for his honesty, likeability, sense of humor, integrity, kindness and love for his family.
Donald was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mom and dad were married for 65 years.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis; children Katherine (Kent) Lott, Donald L. (Chunlan) Anderson, Sandra (Robert, deceased) Cruseturner, Colleen (Todd) Mott and Christine (Kim) Christensen. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, brother Reed (Pauline) Anderson, sister-in-law Bonnie Anderson and brother-in-law Hugh VanOrden. He is preceded in death by an infant son, Michael John Anderson, son-in-law Robert Cruseturner, son-in-law Clint Ruple, grandson Douglas Keith Roskelley, sister Melba Mortensen and brother Scott Anderson.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen–Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 34 E. Center St. in Logan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, in the Mount Logan Stake Center, 565 E. 100 South. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday prior to services.
