E.A. Sullivan married Miss Buna Elizabeth Valentine on 15 May 1901 at the home of the bride's parents in the South Prairie community.

Emmett Alexander “Alex” Sullivan was a pioneer lawyer in Van Zandt County, Texas.

E. A. Sullivan was a successful local Attorney who moved to Graham in 1900 from Van Zandt County with his two children following the death of his wife. He was a candidate for County Attorney at the last election and only needed 60 votes to be elected.

Survived by his wife; two children - Grace Sullivan, 7 years and Mary Jeannette Sullivan, 5 years.

He was the brother-in-law of Susan Payne of South Bend.
