Gladys Fay Yeley January 24, 1932 - October 27, 2018

Gladys Fay Yeley (Janeway) was born January 24, 1932 to Ada and David Janeway in Texas.
She went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2018.

She met her husband, Harold (Jack) Yeley in Poplar, California and they were soon married on October 12, 1950. They were blessed the following year with their first child, Barbara and then four years later with a son, Harold.

Gladys worked at many different types of jobs, but she was most known for her years as an LVN at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. She would spend 10 years there until her retirement.
In her retirement years, she spent her time traveling with her husband, Jack, in their truck and camper. They traveled to many places camping, fishing and spending time with friends and family along the way. Many trips were spent with her best friends, Margaret Beatty, Lola Strong and Bernice Strong. Gladys also enjoyed baking, cooking, canning and entertaining anyone who came to the front door. She was known for her biscuits and gravy from scratch, cheesecake and chocolate torte. She would also be found a lot of times on a phone call with family or friends, especially her cousin Mary Remick. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay or a good meal to eat. She will be missed by so many lives she has touched.

Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Harold (Jack) Yeley; two children, Harold (Cindy) Yeley and Barbara Smith; 4 grandchildren, Atheana (Randy) Fender, Leah (Michael) Cady, Rebecca Yeley and Erik Yeley; 5 great-grandchildren, Issak Brandon, Hannah Cady, Jeremiah Brandon, Adria Haynes and Coltin Fender; 2 brothers, Charles (Delores) Janeway and Virgil Leon Janeway; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Joan King and Wanda Beayrd; nephew, Michael Beayrd; niece, Willie Jo Cates; son-in-law, Donald Smith and great-grandson, Elisha Brandon.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
