Jack Dennis Eddy always wanted his obituary to say “I came, I saw, I went.” His family has a different idea of what his obituary should be. Jack Dennis Eddy, of Albion passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home after a short illness.
Jack was born in Albion, Michigan on June 26, 1938, to Jack A. and Maxine (Peace) Eddy in Albion, Michigan. Jack graduated from the Washington Gardner High School in 1956, and joined the United States Air Force, serving until 1960.
Jack married Yvertte Lonteen on January 6, 1962 in Albion, MI and had two children, Dennis and Steven. In 1963, Jack joined the Albion Police Department, and transferred to the Albion Fire Department in 1966. In 1970, he returned back to the Police Department, as he found being a police officer was his passion. Jack retired with the rank of Captain after 30 years of service in 1993.
Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching baseball and football, and being with family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Yvette Eddy; son, Steven (Mary) Eddy; brother, Terry (Brenda) Eddy; and grandchildren, Lance, Justin, Steven (Kaylah) and Taren Eddy. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Eddy and his parents Jack A. Eddy and Maxine (Peace) Eddy.
A private memorial will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI.
