Adolph Uncle Jake Gossman. A visitation will be held for Adolph Gossman on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Hilliard Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Mr. Gossman passed away at the age of 90 on October 3, 2013 in Canton.

Adolph Jacob Gossman was born June 23, 1923 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late George Gossman and Pauline Gerber Gossman.

He lived in Lemmon, South Dakota until age 20. He entered the US Army on March 18, 1943 and served in the 101st Airborne Ranger as a paratrooper. He went to Germany and Okinawa, honorably serving in WWII, the Korean War, and Battle of Bastone. He retired in 1976, as a Sergeant First Class. He loved to go to the Bank in Ben Wheeler, Brookshires and WalMart daily. Everyone called him Uncle Jake. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Halbert of Ben Wheeler brother, Robert Gossman of Ben Wheeler sisters, Georgia Satter of Rapid City, South Dakota and Pauline Maher Mitchell of South Dakota grandchildren, Brittny Johnson and Matthew Halbert great-grandchild, Raymond Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
