Reuben Parten, of Pauls Valley, passed away October 26, 2018 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years.
Reuben was born at home on October 1, 1929 in Paoli, Oklahoma to Della Neal (Craddock) Parten and Thomas Newton Parten.
He and Vinita Poindexter were married in Ardmore, Oklahoma on December 18, 1954. He worked at the Pauls Valley School System in Maintenance. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Pauls Valley and had lived in the Paoli and Pauls Valley area all of his life.
Predeceased by his parents, Thomas Newton and Della Neal Parten; brothers, Thomas Newton Parten, Jr. and W. C. Parten; and sisters, Neal Bishop and Betty Quigg; 2 brothers, Dallas Parten and Lloyd Parten.
Reuben is survived by his wife, Vinita Pearl Parten of the home; two children, Donna Rice of DeRidder, Louisiana; and Steven Parten of Pauls Valley; three granddaughters, Andrea Barkley and husband, Ben, Regan Blais and husband Greg, and Savannah Blaze; 8 grandchildren, Kathleen, Kelsie, Tyler, Miranda, and Mma, Marlee, Marcee, Aleia; 1 great-great granddaughter, Adalae; 1 sister, Lavone Oden of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Graveside funeral services: Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Paoli Cemetery officiated by Pastor Michael Martinez. Interment was at the Paoli Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
