Son of Charles W. and Alma (Courbron) Coffin. Husband of Mary B. Lessard.
1910 Census records show Frederic living with the Belliveau Family as a boarder. Since he is still a teen at that time there is no occupation listed. Yet the rest of the information is accurately matched to other records, such as the place of birth being French Canada. This record also shows his first language was French. Frederic's immigration to the United States is listed as the early 1900's here.
They were married on August 23, 1920 in Somersworth, NH. The marriage is record in both Maine and New Hampshire, as the groom was a resident of Maine and the bride was a resident of New Hampshire.
The same year he is married he is counted in the federal census with his Aunt, Uncle and Cousins. They were all living in South Berwick, Maine at the time of the census. It makes sense that he was living with family at the age of 22 since his father had died when he was still young, when he was between 4 -7 years old. His date of immigration is within a few years of what was listed on the last census record and his immigration status is listed as permanent alien. Frederic is working as a shoe cutter in a shoe factory at the time this was taken.
Ten years after being married the couple shows up in the 1930 census together. They are still married, living in the same household and their family has grown to include a Daughter, Rita. Rita is five years old at the time of the census. The census confirms his occupation of a shoe marker that was also listed on his marriage record. Ironically, the census records show he was born in French Canada like his Mother and Wife. However his father is believed to be born in Massachusetts which is supported by other documents.
Completed a WWII draft card. At the time Frederic does this he is living in Somersworth, New Hampshire. His occupation is listed as none and employer as self.
Frederic is buried between his father and his Aunt and Uncle that he was living with in the 1920 census. Although the Cemetery is associated with a church in South Berwick, Maine the actual cemetery is located in Rollinsford, New Hampshire. Fredrick spent most of his life in the communities around the cemetery from South Berwick, Maine to Somersworth, New Hampshire.
