John W. Darlington received word this week of the death of D.W. Ellis at his home in Alva, OK. Twenty-five years ago Mr. Ellis was a photographer on east Fifth street.

Dana Wilson Ellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ellis, was born on September 8, 1868, at Marietta, OH. He died early Saturday morning, March 25, 1933, at his residence at Alva. He was a photographer by trade. He first established himself in this business at Anamosa, IA. His wife preceded him in death in 1907 at Holton KS. Since then Mr. Ellis tried to be both father and mother to his children for whom he lived with deep devotion.

The children are Howard Luther Ellis, Oklahoma City; Marjorie Louise Austin, Alva; Eugene Ellis, Alva; and Mrs. Kenneth Reid, Cedar Rapids, IA. He also leaves two brothers, Harvey G. Ellis and Edwin Ellis, both of Seattle, WA; a sister, Mrs. Jennie L. Dick, Gibson, IA; and three grandchildren, Annabell Louise Austin, Norma Jean Austin and Merna Lee Ellis.

Mr. Ellis came to Alva from Beatrice, NE, in 1919 and opened a photographic studied which he conducted all these years. He was a Mason.
