ST. ANTHONY — Adam M. Barnhard Jr., 58, St. Anthony, died April 13, 2011, at his farm near St. Anthony. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher as celebrant. Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by a parish vigil at 7:15 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

Adam was born Feb. 23, 1953, in Bismarck, the son of Adam Sr. and Veronica (Berger) Barnhard. On Oct. 28, 1978, he married Darlene Schmidt at St. Joseph Church in Mandan. They farmed together in the St. Anthony area until April 2011. He and his son, Jeremy, were dairy farmers until 2010 and on the side, Adam and his sons, Jeremy and Adam III, did machinery and Bobcat repairs on the farm at St. Anthony. In his early years, he worked at Kist Livestock, Porta Feeders and Bobcat of Mandan.

His greatest pride was being with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters, Haley and Kelsey. Adam will be remembered for his sweet disposition and love for people and life which remained with him even when the Lord called him home.

Adam Jr. is survived by his wife, Darlene; four sons, Randy Barnhard, Minneapolis, Jeremy Barnhard, St. Anthony, Nicky Barnhard, Minneapolis, and Adam III (Brandy) Barnhard, Solen; two granddaughters, Haley Rae and Kelsey Dawne Barnhard, Solen; sisters and brothers, Rosemary Barnhard, Solen, John (Vanessa) Barnhard, Mandan, Bernie Barnhard, Bismarck, and Jeanette Barnhard and Lori (Marvin) Hatzenbuhler, both of Mandan; sister-in-law, Brenda (Andrew) Handy, West Fargo; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Sr. and Veronica Barnhard; in-laws, Anton and Madeline Schmidt; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
