Mr. Jerry "Doc" Dean Stevens, born on December 30, 1948 in Centerville, Iowa, to the late Otto Laverne Stevens and wife, passed away at age 69 on October 20, 2018 in San Diego, California. Jerry served as a Corpsman in the Navy with the 2nd Battalion, First Marines during the Vietnam War. He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1977. Jerry was the loving husband of Sherill Stevens. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Letah and sister, Neida Stevens. Jerry is survived by his daughters, Shauna Michelle Teevan and Brandi Lynnelle Scholte; brothers, Bob Stevens, Don Stevens, Roger Stevens; step-brothers Charlie Thomas and James Thomas; step-sisters Carol Lambert, Vickie Payton and Karen Voshell; and grandchildren, Alexander Byrne Teevan, Miriam Katarina Scholte, and Audrey Violet Scholte. He also leaves behind his adored dog, Yoshi. He was a Past Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 2108, and a Fellow in the Moose Legion. A service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery with a gathering following at the Mira Mesa Moose Lodge. Details are still in the works.
