Chester David Cannon Jr., 72, died at Lassen Community Hospital, Susanville, California, Tuesday, July 27, 1999. He was born in Alturas, California, January 25, 1927, and was a Lassen County resident for 25 years. He worked with the U.S. Forest Service for 33 years as head of range and wildlife. He served in the Army during World War II, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Alturas, the American Association of Retired Persons and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Wilma, two sons, one sister, three grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew.
Memorial services were held August 5 at Walton's Colonial Mortuary, Susanville, California. Private interment was at the Alturas Cemetery, Alturas, California.
