Loy R. Heim, 99, of The Woods at Cedar Run and formerly of New Cumberland, died Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. Born on June 5, 1919, in Red Cross in Northumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Alice Ferster Reitz. She was the widow of Henry B. Heim, her husband of 46 years. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. She led a full and varied life. She grew up on a small farm, worked in a number of other states (including New Jersey in support of WWII efforts), and ultimately enjoyed traveling with her husband after retirement. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are son Leonard G. Heim of Vancleave, MS; daughter Diane A. Heim and her husband Newell Highsmith of Arlington, VA; grandchildren Theresa Highsmith Larrabee (and husband Scott), Mark H. Highsmith, and Melissa L. Heim Viox (and husband Dan); great granddaughter Leila C. Heim Viox; sister Lena Lenker; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and was a very active and dedicated member of St. Paul's Quilting Group for almost 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday in St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Sharron R. Blezard officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery. Viewing will begin at 1 PM (one hour prior to services) in the church.
