Michael was born May 10, 1950 in East Chicago, Indiana, to Jessie Reeves and Margie Cooper Reeves. He attended South Side High in Jackson, Tennessee. He worked for the Shoney's corporation 30 years; and for 15 years, he was a regional manager for the Denny's corporation. On April 18, 1971, he married the love of his life Sue Ann Clark. They raised a daughter Michelle and son Michael.

Michael loved cars, baseball, and his family. He enjoyed going to a good antique store and loved finding second-hand gems that he could transform into small treasures for the ones he loved. At Christmas, the family never knew what he had found for them and many of those gifts lead to big laughs and great stories. Meeting his childhood hero Roy Rogers was something he never forgot and a story he loved to tell. Losing his father at a young age made Michael a hard worker and a great friend. He always had his toolbox open and ready to help whoever needed it. His work with the Red Cross was a point of pride for him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Reeves; his mother, Margie Reeves; and wife, Sue Ann Reeves. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle; his son, Michael (Elizabeth); granddaughter, Meredith; stepson, Travis; and step-grandson, Liam; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Dr., Greenville, SC 29607. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross, www.redcross.org.
