MaryEllen Friend Dotson Pierce, 79, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018, of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family.
MaryEllen was born March 15, 1939 to Raymond and Helen Friend. She attended Boise schools and graduated from Boise High School in 1957. As a single mother, she worked several jobs while raising her five daughters, eventually retiring from Idaho First National Bank. After retirement, she worked many years for the Idaho Legislature. She sold Mary Kay and was active in the Christian Women’s Club. She had a strong faith in God and raised her daughters in a Christian home.
MaryEllen married Neil Pierce in 1981 and they spent several years traveling. With this union she gained three more children and several more grandchildren. She was very proud of all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
MaryEllen loved God and she loved her family. She was a kind, sweet soul with a great sense of humor. She never met a stranger and could talk for hours with someone she just met. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Neil Pierce. Five daughters, Ramona Wallace of Caldwell, ID, Shelley Stattner (Ray) of Boise, ID, Lori Dotson of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Cherise Dotson of Spokane, WA, and Karma Malone (David) of Meridian, ID, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Stepchildren Barbara Pierce (Flavio Rodriguez) of Midvale, ID, Matthew Pierce and Debbie Pierce both of Boise, ID, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Herbert Friend and son-in-law Robert Wallace.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Grace Bible Church of Boise, 4262 N. Eagle Rd., Boise, ID 83713. Please join the family as we remember our loved one.
