After a long, loving life, Earleen Baker Temple, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2018, in Searcy, Arkansas, surrounded by her family.

Earleen was born in Clinton, Arkansas on April 27, 1933 to the late Lester Baker and Estelle Hamilton Baker. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Faye Rushing; and two brothers, Bill Baker and Orville Baker.

Earleen graduated from Sheridan High School in 1952, and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas State Teachers College. Upon graduating, she began her 34 years of teaching in the Watson Chapel School District in Pine Bluff. In 1956, she married Milton “Buddy” Temple, and they raised two children, Terry and Greg.

Earleen not only taught school, she also was a business owner of Et Cetera Gift Shop from 1972 until 1987.

In 2007, she and Buddy moved to Searcy to be near their family.

Her life was built around her family, and her strong love and devotion was beyond measure. Earleen’s happiness was found at the kitchen table with a meal she had prepared for her family to enjoy. She was always an advocate for the underdog, children, and those less fortunate. Her strength of character and integrity will live on through her family and is imprinted forever in our hearts.

Earleen is survived by her husband, Milton “Buddy” Temple; her children, Terry Temple Parrott of Searcy, Gregory Lee Temple (Jennifer), of Arlington, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Neil Gregory Parrott of Washington DC, Laura Parrott Graham (Matt) of Little Rock, Grant Rhodes Temple and Gabriel Rhodes Temple of Arlington, Tennessee, and Patrick Parrott of Searcy; and a great-grandson, James Matthew Graham of Little Rock. She was a twin to surviving sister, Kathleen Baker McDonald (Tom) of Cornwall, NY.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
