William Harvey "Bill" Smith, 77, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in the Pongo Community on May 19, 1941, son of the late Roscoe and Alice Pitman Smith. He was a farmer and a member of Bandy Church of Christ.
He is survived by three sons, Rocky & (Dora Lou) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Frank & (Sheila) Smith of Somerset and Chuck & (Christy) Smith of Mt. Vernon, three daughters, Susie & (Tony) Bullock of Mt. Vernon, April & (Terry) Harris of Middletown, OH and Trisha & (Tim) Hibbard of Somerset, one brother, Cromer Smith of Mt. Vernon, one sister, Grace Pratt of Science Hill, seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura "Bell" McGuire Smith, whom he married on January 15, 1963 and who died on January 8, 2017, his parents, two brothers, Emery "Luch" Smith and George Smith, one sister, Becky Singleton and five other siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 22, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Robbie Barron officiating.
Burial will be in Raspberry Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, KY.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
