Mrs. McCalla was born March 27, 1878 at Greensburg, a daughter of George W. and Mary J Leech Hoch.
Her husband, James B. McCalla, whom she married Dec. 22, 1889, died Sept. 2, 1946.
Mrs McCalla was educated in North Strabane Township Schools and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canonsburg and the Philathea Class and Women's Associataion of the church. She had resided at Canonsburg for 40 years.
Surviving are: three daughters, Thelma Fulton, of Cadiz, Ohio; Nellie White of West Alexander, and Dora McCalla, at home; one son, James A., of Washington; seven grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren; and two brothers, George W, Hoch, of Canonsburg, and W, H. Hoch, of Oklahoma City.
One daughter, two sons, seven sisters, and two brothers are deceased.
