MARION - Joyce Joyner Coleman passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Florence on October 18, 2018 at the age of 89. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Marion First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Devotion Gardens.
Joyce was born on June 3, 1929 to Frances H. and Eunice Black Joyner in Johnston, SC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is preceded by two brothers, Paul Joyner and Raymond Joyner; and two sisters Margret Joyner Summer and Muriel Joyner.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Hugh V. Coleman; four children, Victor Coleman, Jr. of New Bern, NC, Kathy Coleman Smith (Bruce) of New Bern, Chris Coleman of Marion and Philip Coleman (Sherry) of Myrtle Beach; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
She was a nurse for many years working with the Red Cross. She also worked in her husbands practice for years and was also a clinic instructor for many nursing students. She enjoyed reading and garden club and was very active in the community.
