Ruth Alexander, 100, passed away on October 15, 2018 in Chanute, KS.

She was born March 26, 1918 at Iola, KS, the daughter of S.E. and Carrie L. Elmore.

The family moved to Chanute the same year. Ruth attended Chanute schools and junior college.

In 1942, Ruth married Elmer M. Alexander. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Janis Ezell of Baltimore, MD; daughter-in-law, Linda Alexander of Olathe, KS; three grandchildren, Michelle Campasino of Brooklyn Park, MD, Abbi Stremming of Overland Park, KS, and Aaron Alexander of Olathe, KS; and four great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Alexander; one sister; and two brothers.

She was a member of Westview Baptist Church. “God indeed is my savior; I am confident and unafraid. My strength and my courage is the LORD, and he has been my savior.” Isaiah 12:2.

Cremation has been requested with private burial at a later date.

Memorials have been suggested to Westview Baptist Church and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to: Countryside Funeral Home 101 N. Highland, Chanute, KS 66720.
